In new ground-breaking research The Scientist Magazine, reports on a small clinical trial demonstrates that peptide immunotherapy can halt the progression of early-stage type 1 diabetes.

This is very much early research but if all goes well the drug could be on the market in five to ten years time. At the moment, those with Type 1 Diabetes must take insulin injections.
