Unfortunately, even with a national emergency, people will continue to die. By throwing vast amounts of money at the system, addicts will possibly get care more quickly. But the prognosis is dire, with proven links between drug addiction and mental health, this becomes a chronic challenge. Simply, the problem’s multi-dimensional and it’s not clear that Trump’s national emergency will have wide enough terms of reference.

I think that we need class actions that target executives personally – they’re hiding behind the corporate veil. They need to risk losing their wealth, pensions and going to jail – this will perhaps scare them into good practice.
