Here’s a topical and deeply worrying article from Newsweek. It argues that the US’s crippling opioid epidemic has an entire nation searching for answers. It explores who is fueling the worsening opioid crisis, and what can be done.
Source: Has Big Pharma Made America a country of opioid drug addicts?
In a nutshell, it focusses on the Big Pharma corporations who are profiting out of the opioid epidemic. But it highlights, that it’s only when executive compensation is challenged that things will change.
I think that we need class actions that target executives personally – they’re hiding behind the corporate veil. They need to risk losing their wealth, pensions and going to jail – this will perhaps scare them into good practice.
