After the Barcelona attack, world media attention seems today focused on ‘anti Semitism‘. For example, the right leaning Jerusalem Post highlights that ’80 percent of respondents said they believe that the Labour Party is harboring antisemites in its ranks’.

We are given little information about the survey methodology, just the conclusions which are inflammatory and hit the news, days after a radical Islamic terrorist incident in Barcelona. If you look behind the world media reports, many of the comments are angry and ugly.
But let’s cut to the heart of the matter, there are three underlying themes:
- The UK Labour Party, which has been hijacked by the Far-Left, with Jeremy Corbyn as puppet leader, with strong pro-Palestinian sympathies and deeply rooted hostility towards Israel, despite the evidence, and the related inflammation of anti Semitism (American readers can look to similar parallels in Obama’s tenure in office)
- The rise in Radical Islam, and the increasing violence in Western democracies, following military interventions the Middle East.
- The underlying liberal values of the society.
As I have indicated earlier, we have not seen the research evidence, just the headlines.
Broadly, the UK is an open liberal society that treats minorities with respect, and I struggle to believe that the values of society have turned ugly and nasty, without far deeper evidence. What’s turned has been Far-Left politics for whom ‘the end justifies the means‘. The world is realing against the threat of increasing Radical Islam and the Far Left are deflecting attention for fear of being tainted.
Anti Semitism has a very long history and is equally popular with both the Far Left and the Far Right but surely it’s time for the media to look to the real villains, viz. Radical Islamization and Far Left propaganda?
Thoughts?
Dr Alf raises interesting points about anti Semitism and the prevailing attitudes in UK society.
Anti Semitism has been with us throughout the world for thousands of years and a look at history shows that Jews have been expelled from more than 80 countries since the rule of the Roman emperor Hadrian who put down a Jewish rebellion with such ferocity that 500,000 of them died leading to a passage in the Talmud which says “May his name be accursed forever”.
The question of ‘to where Jews might migrate to to avoid trouble and persecution?’
is not a moot point because prejudice is not dead, merely dormant when economic times are good and most people are in work. History reminds us that anti semitism is at its worst when it’s politized – that’s why the policies of the Far Left and Radical Islam are so relevent.
To some extent, through their own successes and hard work, they have been able to insulate themselves from a lot of the physical realities and, like my own ancestors who were not Jewish, many of them have changed their surnames so as to Anglicise them. John Bercow(Bercowitz),Jack Straw, the late Leon Brittan,Louise Ellman are all recent examples.
Fleeing from trouble works when you are dealing with a Hitler or a Cossack pogrom but with milder forms of trouble it is best to face it because it grows if left unchecked.
The authorities do and are doing too little to take the phenomenon seriously and political correctness gone mad stops strong and effective measures against troublesome Muslims and Jihadis who pose a threat to everybody.
In the end internment, asset sequestration and mass deportations of foreign born jihadis will become a necessity, along with closure of rogue mosques.
The Muslim community will have to do more to oust troublemakers in their midst and be made to embrace Judeo Christian ethics.
Iran will need to be contained and Saudi Arabia brought to heel and all of us will need to be vigilant.

The issue of anti Semitism in the Labour party is more tricky because the party pretends to be supportive of working people but ignores the latent anti Semitism of the elements of the proletariat whom Dr Alf describes as “down on their luck” and does its best to harvest votes from the Muslim community.
Parts of that Muslim community are troublesome to the point where unbelievers and kuffors are lumped in with pigs, Jews and dogs as objects of approbium.
Corbyn does not act because he wants power at any cost and the Government and the media pretend the problem doesn’t exist so that they can sell Saudi Arabia more weapons.
