Most risk analysts seem to regard North Korea and Iran as separate risks. Surely, if North Korea and Iran form an alliance, the geopolitical risks ares compounded?

  1. Dr Alf may recall that some years ago North Korea was assisting Pakistan and Iran with developing nuclear capability,in the case of Pakistan it was nuclear bombs and with Iran it was nuclear power.
The potential threat this posed was recognised on the PNAC website which calls for North Korea,Iran and Russia and China to be subjected to regime change.

There is even a document called “Path to Persia”which the Americans have which goes into the detail of how Iran is to be taken down.

North Korea has few friends and will need to be contained to prevent further escapades.
Achieving this will be difficult and will take a long time.
