Iran Focus in London reports that US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley delivered a thoughtful and impassioned speech on the threat posed by the Iranian Regime and the future of the nuclear deal.

Military and diplomatic options have been presented to President Trump. No doubt Trump is reflecting and seeking counsel from those whom he trusts. Strategically, Israel and Saudi Arabia will be taking every opportunity to press their views too.
But America is a bit stretched, with natural disasters at home, massive Russian war-games worrying NATO, the military defeat of ISIS opening up new threats in Syria, plus Afghanastan and North Korea – let’s not forget the investigations into the Trump team’s links with Russia, no doubt fanned with Hilary Clinton’s new book.

America’s hand is not strengthened and it will not be by the things Nikki Haley suggests.
Russia and China would take action if the Natanz nuclear facilities were attacked with thermobaric weapons and inspection regimes to ensure compliance are only as good as your ability to effect inspections.
As Dr Alf knows as well ,Iran gained from the Iraq war which we and America initiated and we will have to deal with them and the Russians in any settlement on Syria.
Iran’s Achilles heel is the desire of its young for a better life and more Western style freedoms so it is they who need to be worked up into a frenzy of anticipation so that they effect regime change from within.
