Here’s a good read in the Guardian. Guardian columnist Matthew d’Ancona argues that the best the prime minister can do at this stage is smooth the path for Ruth Davidson.
This is exciting stuff and the neo-Communist Labour Party would have much to fear from Ruth Davidson as PM.
Thoughts?
In this piece from Matthew d’ Ancona of the Guardian brought to us by Dr Alf I find myself strangely agreeing with the central thrust of the argument which is that May must go and go now.
I disagree that May can have a legacy as she is devoid of imagination, unable to communicate with ordinary people, slow to make decisions,a ditherer and an incompetent.
The Conservatives to have a chance of dealing with Jeremy Corbyn and getting a working majority need a strong ,telegenic leader capable of streetfighting plus able people of similar ilk around him or her.
Ruth Davidson and some others could be the leader and the rest need to come from several levels down.
Grant Shapps did the party a great service by stating openly what needed to be said but which the more mealy mouthed potential Brutus’s have been afraid to say, namely that May is out of her depth and a laughing stock within Europe and a gift to the Labour Party.
