I’m reblogging this popular blog because neoliberalism is once again under attack in muddled left-wing argument. Left-wing writers fail to address productivity, skills, investment and financing a larger public sector, especially in the UK, with a smaller national cake post Brexit. Conservative politicians are guilty too, forgetting the successes of Reagan and Thatcher on the back of neoliberal intervention. Now conservative politicians prefer the discredited ‘traditional conservatism‘ or the flaky platform of the neocons.

Surely, it’s time for conservative politicians to stop sitting on their hands? If they don’t have the qualities needed, perhaps it’s time to move aside and give the youngsters a chance?

With the Far Left having hijacked the Labour Party and Corbyn more concerned with domestic revolution than Brexit (source: Economist) , it’s time to put down a few markers. Whilst the capitalist system has many flaws, there’s not a better solution, unless you favor Marxism, revolution and a totalitarian takeover of our liberties?

In this Guardian article, George Monbiot, trying to  to promote his next book, shows how false news is triggered. He claims that financial meltdown, environmental disaster and even the rise of Donald Trumpneoliberalism has played its part in them all. But he struggles to answer why has the left failed to come up with an alternative.

For me, Monbiot confuses evidence with personal bias and dogma. He muddles political and economic arguments. He fails to address why left-wing socialist governments promote inefficiency, squander public money and are now so deeply out of favor.
