Russians seethe over Western snub of WWII parade | EurActiv

This is a very important article from EurActiv.

For the Russian people, the WWII parade is immensely important. Historically, it has attracted world leaders. This year, largely because of Ukraine, many foreign leaders are absent. This is deeply humiliating for Russia.

It is important to remember that Russia shortened WWII by deflecting fighting to the Eastern Front but this was at the expense of massive human loss of life. The alternative would have been far greater loss of life for the US and UK forces. It is  for this reason that the Western leaders are wrong to snub Russia over the WWII parade.

This week we have seen a top journalist claim that Russia and the Ukraine is a far greater threat than Greece.

Surely, angering the Russian bear is not wise?

The article makes good sense to me and I worry about Angela Merkel passing negotiations with Russia to Obama‘s team.
