Opinion – Trump and Iran – The Acid Test?

Here’s my two-cents worth, captured in my my most highly rated tweet this month:

Trump must cite hard-evidence if he reintroduced sanctions on Iran. Perhaps Israel is trying to bolster US resolve but watch for a shifting position from France, UK and Germany, otherwise Trump will be on a limb

Opinion – In Syria, Trump Faces the Limits of Bluster – Editorial – NYT

Here’s an outstanding, must-read editorial from the NYT, highlighting how Trump has contributed to the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Trump’s simplistic knee-jerk tweets highlight that he’s a weak president with a big ego. US foreign policy is confused. With ‘America First’, is the US abandoning its role as the world’s policeman and defendor of freedom? Firstly in Iraq and then by attacking ISIS, the US missed the strategic objectives. On Trump’s watch, Iran, Syria, Turkey and Russia’s are testing Trump’s resolve. History has shown us, time and time again, that US bombing is not enough. Surely, it’s time for the US Congress to demand a strategic approach to foreign policy that is in harness with America’s major allies? Thoughts?
