Dr Alf’s prognosis is correct, the present Greek government will fall irrespective of the size of the ultimate bailout.

This is something which the Queen on her timely state visit to Germany told Angela Merkel in code (“Divisions in Europe are dangerous and we must guard against them in the west and in the east”) to pay to Greece.

The toughening up of the rhetoric by the creditors is sadly bluster before the inevitable Greek bailout which the financial markets have already factored in until next time.
