The Japan Times reports that a Kyushu man in his 20s died earlier this year from caffeine intoxication after drinking large quantities of caffeinated beverages daily over a long period.

This tragic loss of life happened in Japan but it could just as easily have happened in Germany, the UK or America. There are too many young people struggling working anti-social hours, often in multiple jobs.

Surely, it’s time to raise taxes on caffeinated beverages to reduce consumption?
