Obama to halt attack if Syria destroys chemical weapons – FT.com.

Clearly, President Obama will struggle to gain approval from Congress for his plan to punish Syria for deploying chemical weapons, so this Russian initiative will be attractive.

Personally, I agree with Senator McCain who said that “Congress should vote for air strikes in order to “give the president additional leverage to press Russia and Syria to make good on their proposal”.

Let me turn this to an open question:
