Saudi Arabia because of oil riches has been an important strategic ally in the Middle East for decades, yet the Obama Administration’s policy towards Iran is deeply disturbing Saudi Arabia who regards Iran as a strategic threat. The NYT article examines in the detail the Saudi media’s reaction to the Netanyahu’s Iran Speech.

Surely, it’s about time for Obama to come clean and look for legalisation to support his Iranian position? Iran’s nuclear program is too big for Obama to push through on an executive order. Obama needs to be challenged to legislate, where he’ll need a two-thirds majority to proceed.

Surely Obama must be stopped?

Personally, I am a little amazed at how diplomacy has come back in to fashion in the modern World of geopolitics. I am still a rather skeptical but certainly favor giving diplomacy a chance; after all, we are possibly witnessing a new a fault line between East and West.

Perhaps for me, the most interesting comment in this article was that Iran posted a comment on Twitter rather than using traditional diplomatic channels.
