The Independent reports that in a victory for parents struggling to support burdensome adult children – Spanish courts have upheld appeals against a civil code requiring divorced parents to support their grown-up offspring.

It looks like austerity has come full circle when it forces parents to disown their children. But surely the lost generation who cannot find work have rights too?

This story concerns patients requests for confidentiality being ignored.

To me, as an outsider, not living in the UK, it seems that people are not being treated effectively as patients, customers or clients, with basic rights. Too often NHS processes appear to deal with people more as widgets in a conveyor process.

What happened to care in the UK’s public health system?
