The author, Itamar Rabinovich, is Israel’s former ambassador to the United States, and is President of The Israel Institute (DC and Tel Aviv) and is a senior scholar at Tel Aviv University, New York University, and the Brookings Institution.

Natanyahu has won a powerful political victory at home, and has been able to reduce the hold of powerful minorities, giving him a freer hand. Now he must work on strengthening relations with the US and Europe. He must also chose carefully in his dealings with China and Russia.
