Europe needs France to find a leader who can enact structural reform – Telegraph.

Whilst, I do not dispute the facts, I see the conclusions differently.

Hollande was a lame-duck from early in his presidency. He could never live up to his promises and he ratings summarize his record.

France has elected many reforming Presidents but by and large they have all failed. They have either not had the power or the stamina to truly reform France. These days France is polarized with extreme politics of both the left and right, with the moderate center powerless.

In Germany‘s eyes, France is probably part of Southern Europe, with all the same problems; but France is also too big to fail. Failure in France will domino into Germany, and will lead to the collapse of the Euro.

Whilst the French bourse is doing OK, I would expect speculators to return
