The article suggests that the immediate effect of the two-day summit has experienced an influx of tremendous dynamism into the complicated China-US relationship. It cautiously concludes that the world’s anxieties over uncertainties can now find a level of solace through optimistic expectations.

Both the US and China were looking for a win-win meeting, which both presidents could present to their respective domestic audiences.

Trump has accepted a reciprocal state visit to China and both sides have agreed to structured talks on a wide range of issues.

This is good news and comes at the same time as a short-term chill in US relations with Russia, following the US intervention in Syria – bombing an airport used for launching military planes dropping chemical weapons.
