This is an insightful read from CNN citing new research from France. It reports that as attitudes about marijuana shift around the world, researchers are warning parents that it’s risky to keep it around children, especially those who are too young to know what it is.

Marijuana is very much in the news today. Perhaps, the most scary story from the Children’s Hospital Colorado is entitled ‘Acute Marijuana Intoxication.

This leads me to an open question:

Are today’s political leaders in advanced countries, like the US, UK, France & Germany too lenient on drug abuse?

Compare this news to record numbers of white, middle-aged, Americans dying prematurly from acohol abuse, drug related illness and mental illness leading to suicide.

Is one to simply conclude that large segments of US society are sick?
