Ahead of President Obama’s visit to China, the article looks at the results of a survey of American attitudes to China. Young people and the more well-educated tend to be most positive on China; whereas older people are more wary. I suspect that the greatest hostility to China will be from blue-collar workers‘ whose jobs have been off-shored. Also older conservatives will be wary.

This article highlights how Obama so-called strategy is just not robust. Indeed it never really was a strategy, just an excuse for Obama taking the weakest possible line in responding to ISIS.

In recent years, Turkey has had remarkable economic growth on the back of extensive investment from the West.

Let me ask an open question:

Is it perhaps time for the West to signal potential economic sanctions on Turkey?
