David Cameron: Tories are the party of ‘grafters, roofers, retailers and plumbers’ – Telegraph.

Let’s face it, it’s well-known on both sides of the Atlantic that small firms create jobs more quickly than large ones.

It’s the understanding of the UK’s shop-keeper, small-firm mentality that was Margaret Thatcher’s great strength.

With increasing technology, global competition and degrading of education standards, mainstream jobs will be increasingly harder to find. It’s no good for Ed Milband to represent the workers when there will be fewer and fewer jobs, especially because of Labour’s increasingly left-wing policies.

Small-firms and self employment are the way forward. This is a powerful message. Conservative Party commitments to small business growth will result in jobs and prosperity. It’s a shame that more Conservatives were not reading this blog over the last four years. John Gelmini and myself have certainly given them numerous policy wins.
