Austerity has been the wrong policy, when will it be effectively reversed and those responsible held to account for the economic and social damage caused?

Any thoughts?

The European Commission, the high priests of austerity, have a terrible record in their forecasts for unemployment. Most serious economists and the IMF maintain that the European Commission’s policies on austerity have been too severe and have caused huge unnecessary economic and social pain across Europe, especially Southern Europe.

This turn me to an open question:

Who will hold the European Commission to account for their failures?

Any thoughts?
