This is a brilliant MUST READ article from Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize winning, liberal, economist, in his Op-Ed blog in the NYT.

The Big Shrug – NYTimes.com.

For me, the austerians in Washington, London and Berlin still dominate the political classes and are dealing the cards; this is despite excessive austerity being totally discredited this year by the vast majority of top-class economists, including the IMF.

Any thoughts?

Personally, I strongly support Paul Krugman’s argument. I too am a demand-sider.

What do you think? Should policy-makers be listening to the demand-siders or the supply-siders?

Do you think there are lessons to be learned here by the UK and the rest of Europe, especially about austerity policies?
