Personally, I use Geotracker, a free, highly-rated Android app on my Chinese smartphone to track my hikes. It can be used for action sports and long distance travel too. It has several new features:
- An ability to share trip statistics screenshot via Facebook, Twitter etc.
- Ability to build statistics charts based on duration – see above example from one of our hikes
- Ability to view charts full screen by tapping them
But for me, the ability to view my activities in Google Maps and Google Earth is really helpful. By the way, the new Google Earth for Chrome is awesome. Give it a try.
