In this article, Wren-Lewis compares immigration to the austerity debate and cites to some good evidence to embellish his argument. For me, the evidence is clear, encouraging immigration is normally economically beneficial. BUT, I think that immigration is only half of the problem.
Personally, I think that the immigration debate often misses the bigger challenge which I express as an open question:
What should the UK do about its hard-core unemployed, facing economic, social, and political challenges?
