Regular readers of this blog will know that I strongly favor reforming bureaucracies.

Sadly, there is frequently a shortage of strategic analysis in public sector organizations. India probably has some of the most inefficient bureaucracies in the World – perhaps they have lost their way since colonial times?

Of course, the real weakness in India, as highlighted by this story, is the meddling politicians – only when politicians stop meddling will bureaucracies start to become efficient.
